This unfortunate young man had been playing with a toy shampoo bottle. When it got stuck on his tongue, mother tried to remove but without success and EMS was called. They attempted puncturing the bottle to relieve the vacuum with no success. The ER physician finally cut the bottom of the bottle off, thinking the tongue could be pushed through...without success. These photos show the bottle after it had been cut off and the pediatric ENT surgeon consulted. Child had to have bottle removed under general anesthesia in the O. R. The tip of the tongue was solidly fixed in the neck of the bottle.
